Work: Compound Statements and Truth Tables

Teacher: Mrs. Marsh
This was a homework assignment were I learned how to use compound sentences to make accurate and false statements. I also learned what truth tables are, how to use them, and create them. For the compound sentences, I answered questions using P, Q, AND R to determine if the conviction was conjunction or disjunction and to find the correct value. When answering the truth table, I filled out a pre-made table using values -pAq. Then I created my truth table using the value -pV-q to solve for true or false compound statements. I demonstrated thinking and problem-solving using higher-order math skills and literary analysis because I had to create a truth table and use conjunctions, disjunctions, and compound sentences to solve problems. I improved my 21st-century skills by finding different/more ways to solve problems to finish this assignment on time. It gave me a greater understanding of different ways to solve problems because I could use higher-order math skills to find multiple methods to solve these questions.
I am most proud of creating a truth table because it was a new contempt and that I had a hard time understanding. I am pleased because I didn’t give up. I used my resources to understand and finish this assignment. I found this assignment most difficult when understanding a new concept that I was struggling to learn. This project relates to other terms because I had to use higher order math skills to solve problems. So I already had an understanding of finding multiple ways to solve a problem. I also had to use my creativity to make it to the truth table. In every way, I will try to apply this to future learning by not giving up when I don’t understand a problem. I was using my resources. And by looking at the situation in more ways than one to find the correct answer.
